Wanting to do Disney on a budget? Consider bringing the Disney magic to home with a fun and budget-friendly Disney staycation!

Disney trips are a lot of fun and it really is the most magical place on earth but that magic comes at a cost. Disney Parks continue to become more and more expensive. But you can bring some of that magic home and have a fun Disney themed staycation!
I live in the middle of the country so not close to any Disney Parks and it’s generally a very long time between trips these days. However, as a big Disney fan I love to enjoy the magic of Disney at home.
There are so many ways now that we can plan for a fun Disney staycation and enjoy Disney on a budget. I’ve put together some fun ideas for ways to play your Disney staycation.
Disney on a Budget: Disney Staycation Ideas
First before you start looking at ideas I’ve got a free printable staycation planner you can download and print to plan the perfect staycation.
These ideas can be done on their own or combine several ideas to create the perfect Disney staycation. It can be an afternoon or even make it a weeklong Disney event.
- Cook Disney Inspired Recipes. You can find recipes online or pick up a Disney cookbook. There are several official Disney cookbooks or Disney Eats is a fun option with Disney themed recipes.
- Make Disney Crafts. There are so many fun Disney crafts to make, you can have a whole Disney craft day.
- Watch Disney Ride Videos. YouTube is full of Disney ride videos and even full park videos. Put it up on your TV and eat your Disney snacks while watching.
- Buy a Disney Scented Candle. Make your house smell like Disney with some Disney scented candles. If you are doing multiple days use a different candle each day. Or put different ones in each room. If you have young kids consider using a candle warmer to make it a bit safer.
- Buy Disney Snacks. You can order some official Disney snacks online to help make it feel like you are really at the park.
- Have a Disney Movie Marathon. Watch your favorite movies, movies you’ve never seen, or watch a full series of movies like all the Toy Story movies. Don’t forget to make some themed snacks!
- Have Themed Days. Instead of having the staycation just be Disney themed, pick a movie, ride, or park to theme each day around. Make snacks that relate to the theme, everyone can get dressed up for the theme, watch movies, and enjoy everything you can find related to the theme.
- Decorate Your Home for the Staycation. No matter if you are using a theme or just Disney in general fun decorations can help. You can make your own or buy cute things online to decorate your home with. Don’t forget to look around your home for things you already own.
- Have a Costume Party. Have everyone dress up like their favorite Disney character or create at-home Disney bound outfits.
- Watch Disney Documentaries. There are a lot of fun Disney documentaries on Disney+. One of my favorite series is Behind the Attraction.
- Plan Your Dream Disney Vacation. It can also be fun to dream and plan for a real Disney vacation. You can sit around and talk about the top things you’d want to do. You can help make it a reality by also talking about ways you can budget to make the trip happen. This can give your family a fun goal to help you stick to a budget and save.
These are just a few items to help you plan the perfect Disney staycation. Get creative and mix and match different ideas.
And if you are planning a trip to Disney on a budget these are some resources that can help you plan and stick to that budget.
